Welcome horror fans!
Oh what a great horror movie! Jennifer Connelly is stunning and her performance is one of the best I've seen her do in years! You get to hear the awesome soundtrack of Goblin, which is mind-blowing to say the very least. This movie wins on so many levels, it's not even funny! Dario Argento hit a home run with this horror flick, which also stars the amazing Donald Pleasence (anything with Donald Pleasence I'm watching). This movie really has it all, you get great acting, a great story, superb music and a super hot looking young girl with powers! This is the best horror movie ever!
Jennifer Connelly is able to communicate with nature and the insects come to her rescue when she needs them. There are some horror fans who think this movie is good, but not as good as Dario Argento's other films, I beg the differ, because this movie in my humble opinion, is the best that Dario Argento ever made! I know you may be thinking, but what about Deep Red and Suspiria? Both movies are real gems, but I could watch Phenomena over and over again...why? It's just that good! I realize many of us horror fans have different taste, but if you take a good look at the overall acting, script, filming and directoring of this movie, you may come to an agreement with me.
This movie has made me into a solid Dario Argento fan and is highly valued in my dvd collection as such. I could talk about this movie all day long and there are not too many horror movies where I can do that. If you don't think this is his best film, I dare you to watch it again and give it a fresh new view, then make your decision. Carefully look at the character development and especially those scenes filmed at night with the wind blowing in the trees. Seriously, it is totally freaky filming at night and there is nothing more sinister then a large building close to the woods.
I grew up out in the country, so I have a personal love for how creepy the woods can be at night and this film conjurs up those feelings of my own experiences with the deep dark woods. If you do not own this movie on DVD or Blueray, do yourself a favor and get it today! Phenomena truly is a must have film and it's a pleasure to share my love for this movie with all who read this short little article. In short, "Phenomena" is phenomenal! Grab this one on DVD or Blue-ray today!
